The research group „Technology Transfer Research“ at Jena University is focused on innovative collaboration systems for digital organisations. The group designs, develops and evaluates web-based information systems that improve the daily work of knowledge-workers.
We are looking for a Senior Web-Developer (m/w/d) at the earliest possible date.
Become member of the project „Nucleus“. We are developing a new tool that will give small organisations new opportunities for collaboration. Within the upcoming three years, we will build an open source solution that will improve the work satisfaction of many people.
Your tasks are:
- accomplish well-defined development tasks
- participate in idea creation and conceptual work for the software development process
- code reviews and test driven development
Our requirements:
- min. 3yrs development experiences within a JavaScript framework (we use Vue.js)
- min. 3yrs development experiences within a web framework (we use Ruby on Rails)
- interested in Ruby / Ruby on Rails (no practical experiences required)
- desire for clean code and software craftsmanship
- experiences with tools along the development cycle (we use Ubuntu, Gitlab, VS-Code/RubyMine)
- a university degree and work permit

We are looking for two students (10 hours a week), who are interested in developing exciting, experimental software in a team.
You should meet the following requirements:
- Enjoy web development and attractive web applications
- Proven development experience with a web framework (we use Ruby-on-Rails or PHP)
- Experience with distributed source control and project management tools (we use Mercurial and Redmine)
- Interest in Clean Code Development
You can expect:
